Nearest gay clubs

Like most Italian cities, the Rome gay scene is petite ; particularly since there are not many gay bars in Rome. When I near came here inthere were just the two staple bars on the gay street near to the Colosseum: Coming Out and My Bar. But in recent years, the gay Rome bars have started to take off in popularity, and they are not all centered around the Colosseum although close enough to the city center.

The best advice is to come early for dinner or aperitivo and leave late to head to some of Rome's gay clubs or gay parties. We will keep this section relatively short, since we will go into details on each bar below.

Coming Out Bar is a staple of Rome. You'll notice it immediately from its rainbow flower arrangement. It hosts karaoke and drag nights on the daily. My Bar is club next door to Coming Out Bar, and packs a similar vibe, although it is club more focused on music and hosting DJs, making it feel a bit more like a miniature nightclub.

Colosseum Bar is less queer than the others, but it has much better cocktails and a notably gay-friendly environment. The bars tend to overflow into the street where people converge and stare at the passing boys against the fence of the ancient Ludus Magnus training facility. Sneaky, I know, but they won't care. In my humble opinion, the rest of these bars offer far more unique and vibrant atmospheres than the ones on Gay Street. We are lovers of off-the-beaten-path places and Pigneto definitely is that. Easily accessible by metro, the main thoroughfare is Via del Pignetoand it is lined gay bars and restaurants. With its colorful, glitter-infused decor and lively atmosphere, this bar offers an experience that goes beyond just drinks. The staff is praised for being friendly and welcoming, and the cocktails are both creative and delicious.

On top of it, it continues to be unique in that it hosts other events like comedy shows and poem readings, making it a stand-out from the other gay bars in Rome. Magnebevo e sto al Pigneto is a cozy and inviting spot in the Pigneto neighborhood, known for its warm atmosphere and excellent selection of wines and cocktails and food.

Visitors appreciate the friendly service and relaxed vibe, making it a great place to unwind with friends. Spiritall Lounge Bar is a chic and stylish venue literally right next to Tuscolano Station. The owner is a friendly, down-to-earth guy, and he puts on a mean spritzmaking it a top choice for a relaxed yet upscale night out.
