With Gold Rush history and a free spirit, Nevada City is quite the mix of the past and progressive present. Ptownas the locals call it, has been a queer, summer resort landing spot for decades.

In other words, in Ptown, every day is Pride Day. And why not? These bar cities on the shores of Lake Michigan, are the most gay-friendly small towns in Michigan. June may be the official Pride Month, but in Saugatuck-Douglas their rainbow flags fly every day.
